ALVAR AALTO SYMPOSIUM
Alvar Aalto Symposium is an international forum for discussion on contemporary architecture. It is a triennial event, that brings professionals from around the world together to engage in current topics in architecture. The aim is to raise critical discussion about the artistic, social and technical challenges of contemporary architecture.
The 15th Alvar Aalto Symposium was broadcast 12-13th August from Jyväskylä, Finland around the world (no live-audience). The virtual event was organized by the Alvar Aalto Academy together with the City of Jyväskylä and other partners. The language of the two-day virtual event was English.

TRAVELLING TO FINLAND
Finland is easily accessible from all over the world. Many international airlines have regular flights to Helsinki, and Jyväskylä is easy to reach from there by plane, train or bus. The flight from Helsinki to Jyväskylä takes about 40 minutes, and the train or bus journey about 3 hours. Tikkakoski Airport/Jyväskylä is located only 20 min drive from the city centre, and trains and busses arrive right in the city centre at the public transport interchange.
