The New Standards – Puutalo Oy 1940-55 is this spring’s changing exhibition at Aalto2, opening on February 16. It tells the unique story of how Finnish prefabricated wooden houses conquered the world after the Second World War.

The drawings, photographs and brochures compiled from archival sources reflect the thinking and goals of the era, in line with which the buildings were modified to suit different settings.

The exhibition, produced by Archinfo Finland, premiered at the Venice Architecture Biennale in 2021, curated by Laura Berger, Philip Tidwell and Kristo Vesikansa.
