Alvar Aalto’s architecture and the attitude to life that lies behind it put us under an obligation. They present us with a challenge to take a firm hold, not only on architecture, but also on art and design, relationships with nature, critical examination of the surroundings and social welfare. They present us with a challenge to seize the special characteristics of local culture and seek out the similarities in international culture that unite everybody, everywhere.
