Joan Ockman

5. Alvar Aalto -tutkijaseminaari – Whose Modernism? tuo maailmanluokan esiintyjät 14.–15.6.2023 uuteen Aalto2-museokeskukseen Jyväskylään. Kahden päivän aikana esiintyy lähes 40 puhujaa eri puolilta maailmaa.

Keskiviikon 14.6. teeman Intent (tarkoitus) pääpuhuja on amerikkalainen, kansainvälisesti arvostettu arkkitehtuurihistorioitsija, kriitikko ja opettaja, Joan Ockman. Hän johtaa Yale School of Architecturen tohtoriopintojen koulutusta. Kirjallisesti tuotteliaalla Ockmanilla on työn alla 2025 ilmestyvä yhteistyöprojekti, teos modernin arkkitehtuurin historiasta.

Ruth Verde Zein

Tiistaina 15.6. ratkotaan aluksi tekijyyden (Authorship) kysymyksiä. Toinen pääpuhujamme, brasilialainen arkkitehti Ruth Verde Zein on laajasta kirjallisesta tuotannostaan ja kansainvälisenä esiintyjänä tunnettu, arkkitehtuurin ja muotoilun professori Sao Paolosta.

Klaus Härö

Kolmas pääpuhujamme on valovoimainen, kansainvälisesti palkittu elokuvaohjaaja, sekä vuoden 2022 Arkkitehtuurin Finlandia -voittajan valitsija, Klaus Härö Suomesta. Arkkitehtuurilla ja kulttuurimaisemilla on tärkeä rooli kaikissa Härön elokuvissa. Härön esitys johdattaa meidät kolmanteen teemaan: Legacy eli modernin arkkitehtuurin perintöön.
