The Alvar Aalto Museum launches its spring season with visual artist and architect Ulla-Maija Alanen’s Human Space exhibition on Thursday, 6 February 2014.
The exhibition brings together the underwater world, the human body and architectural space to form a fascinating whole. Collages and underwater photographs combining architectural and medical images take the viewer on a journey of discovery into the anatomy of architecture and the architecture of anatomy.
Apart from her photograph and video works, Alanen is also known as a pioneer of façade projections that comment on urban space.
For more information about Ulla-Maija Alanen and the themes of the exhibition see the synopsis written by the artist.
