The Alvar Aalto Foundation takes the world-wide COVID-19 coronavirus seriously and pays a special attention to the safety of staff and visitors of the Foundation´s museum sites.
The Alvar Aalto Museum, situated in Jyväskylä, will cancel and postpone all school visits, events and workshops until the end of April, 2020. Guided tours for groups will not be arranged during this time at the museum. Despite of the limitations, the museum is open to the public from Tuesday to Sunday from 11 am to 6 pm.
At the Aalto House and Studio Aalto, situated in Helsinki, guided tours continue normally, but group sizes are reduced to max. 10 people at a time.
The Alvar Aalto Foundation has intensified the cleaning of the museum sites in Helsinki and Jyväskylä. The staff and visitors have been instructed to maintain good hand hygiene. The Alvar Aalto Foundation will follow the official guidelines and instructions and informs immediately if there is a need for change the current operations.
