Säynätsalo Town Hall (1949-52), Jyväskylä. Photo Maija Holma, Alvar Aalto Foundation.

The exhibition is based on architect and Professor Emeritus Tore Tallqvist’s decades of dedicated thought. Timeless Aalto – The DNA of Building Culture spans thousands of years of European architectural history, examining the timeless values and features of the art of building design, which are also a key to Alvar Aalto’s architecture.

The exhibition has been produced in a collaboration between Tore Tallqvist, the University of Tampere and the City of Jyväskylä´s OUR urban environment policy. The exhibition is part of Jyväskylä’s Summer programme.

The Town Hall premises are presented during the guided tour which also includes the possibility to visit the exhibition Timeless Aalto – The DNA of Building Culture. We recommend making the reservation in advance from: shop.alvaraalto.fi
