The construction was durable and relatively simple to make. It meant that even heavy wooden table tops could be used with elegant wooden legs.

The H-legged table us known to have been used for the first time in the interior furnishing of the National Pensions Institute main building (Alvar Aalto 1948: 1953-1956).
