Alvar Aalto Academy invites researchers, architects, designers, educators, practitioners, students and entrepreneurs to investigate the theme of Technology and Humanism. 6th International Alvar Aalto Meeting on Contemporary Architecture, held 14–15 September 2017 in Seinäjoki, Finland consists of expert lectures, workshops and discussion sessions. The seminar is seeking proposals from different fields that relate to the theme of Technology and Humanism. Alvar Aalto Academy welcomes Call for Papers and Call for Innovations proposals from a variety of disciplines and perspectives, including architecture, arts, urban design and planning, industrial design, engineering, information technology, media and communication studies, social sciences and humanities.
In this seminar we are looking for contributions that acknowledge the relationship between evolving technology and changing premises for human wellbeing within the context of the built environment. The theme can be approached from the perspective of user-driven processes, building technologies including new materials and processes, energy and resource efficiency and production, healthcare and welfare solutions and the impact of ICT on living and working.
