Sustainability at the Aalto House and Studio Aalto

Sustainability

At the Aalto House and Studio Aalto, we are continuously working towards more responsible and sustainable operations. Visiting the Aalto House and Studio Aalto you are helping the Alvar Aalto Foundation in its aim to preserve Alvar, Aino and Elissa Aalto‘s heritage. Preserving cultural heritage goes hand in hand with caring for people and the environment, and we aim to improve step by step.

Recognized Efforts

Our dedication has been acknowledged through the Good Travel Seal Level 2 (silver) certification, valid for one year following an expert audit in December 2025. This certification evaluates areas such as:

  • Caring for people and culture
  • Good employment practices
  • Climate action and waste reduction
  • Water and nature protection

These results reflect our ongoing efforts rather than a final destination. We welcome feedback and strive to improve further.

The Aalto House and Studio Aalto have been rewarded the Sustainable Travel Finland label , which guides us in developing even more comprehensive sustainability practices in tourism and cultural services.
