In mid-April, Lahti will host an event in architecture. The programme will include workshops for children and adults, and an international seminar on architecture education.
A number of Nordic architecture educators will be participating in PLAYCE NORD 2012, and running a series of workshops in Swedish for the students of the Swedish-speaking Svenska skolan on 19-20 April, 2012.The outcome of the workshops and new trends in architecture education for children and young people will be presented at a public afternoon seminar held in English at the Institute of Design and Fine Arts of the Lahti University of Applied Sciences on Thursday, 19 April 2012, from 2pm to 6pm.
Seminar speakers will include Maria Nordin, producer of an architecture opera for children; Darius Śmiechowski, the Polish pioneer; and Jaana Räsänen, who has made a long career in the architecture education of children and young people in Finland. Räsänen will present the Architecture Toolkit designed by Playce association and consisting of tasks for school children.
