The Alvar Aalto Academy invites researchers, architects, designers, educators, practitioners, students and enterpreuners to investigate on the theme Technology and Humanism. The 6th International Alvar Aalto Meeting on Contemporary Architecture is to be held in Seinäjoki, Finland, 14-15 September 2017 and two different categories, Call for Papers and Call for Innovations are open from 3 April –31 May 2017.
The Alvar Aalto Academy is welcoming Call for Papers and Call for Innovations proposals from a variety of disciplines and perspectives including architecture, arts, urban design and planning, industrial design, engineering, information technology, media and communication studies, social sciences and humanities. In this seminar we are looking for contributions that pay attention on the relationship between evolving technology and changing premises for human well being within the context of built environment. Theme, technology and humanism can be approached through building technologies including new materials an processes, energy and resource efficiency and production, healthcare and welfare solutions and impact of ICT to living and working.
