The International Alvar Aalto Symposium brings together friends of architecture and design for the 13th time in Jyväskylä, Finland, on 7-9 August 2015. The gathering promises three days of inspiring lectures by leading architects and discussions with a ‘DO!’ attitude.

This year, the International Alvar Aalto Symposium will be chaired by one of Finland’s internationally best-known contemporary architects, Anssi Lassila. The soon-to-be-announced speakers and the seminar’s ‘DO!’ theme all bear Lassila’s signature.

“To me, DO! means communication and developing solutions in collaboration with others. A DO! attitude should be visible in all that one does. Without it, one does not achieve whole entities and successes”, says Lassila.

Through this theme, the symposium will consider architecture as a variety of processes of dialogue and exchange that are essential to creating a successful project. The symposium will feature talks from four perspectives: digital, material, local and social.

Lower-priced Early Bird tickets are available until 1 June 2015. You can register for the symposium at www.alvaraaltosymposium.fi.
