The Alvar Aalto Week is organized first time outside of Finland in 2022, with an extensive cultural and architectural program from September 1st to 11th, 2022 in Wolfsburg, Germany. Wolfsburg is home to three major building complexes designed by Alvar Aalto: Wolfsburg Cultural Centre (1958–62); Wolfsburg Church (Heilig-Geist Kirche) and Parish Centre (1959–62); and Detmerode Church (Stephanuskirche) and Parish Centre (1963, 1965–68).

The event is organized by the Forum Architektur of the City of Wolfsburg, together with the Alvar Aalto Foundation. An extensive cultural and architectural program offers for example guided tours, lectures, exhibitions, concerts and events for children. The week also celebrates the 60th anniversary of the opening of the Wolfsburg Cultural Centre.
Wolfsburg is the Chair of the Network of Alvar Aalto Cities in 2022.
