Alvar Aalto Foundation´s museum sites the Aalto House and the Studio Aalto in Helsinki are closed to the public during 8–23 March, 2021.

The Alvar Aalto Museum in Jyväskylä is open to the public from Tuesday to Sunday from 11 am to 6 pm. We have taken a number of measures to ensure the safety of our customers. Visitors will receive further guidance on the spot to make their museum visit as safe and pleasant as possible. We aks the visitors to wear face masks during the museum visit.

Café Alvar is closed but serving clients with certain restrictions from Tuesday to Friday from 11 am to 5 pm. Food and refreshments can be ordered from the menu on a take-away basis.

Our exhibitions await the public – Diverse Design – 30 years of passionate collecting in the Main Exhibition Hall and the Dream of a Museum. Alvar Aalto´s Museum Designs in the Gallery.  Especially the exhibition of collector Pertti Männistö´s superb and unique Aalto collection has gained a wide success.

Because of that we have a pleasure to announce that the exhibition time has been extended by a month – until April 25, 2021. Also the Dream of a Museum exhibition is on display until the same date. Upon the end of these exhibitions the Alvar Aalto Museum will close for complete renovation of the museum building. The museum will be open to the public again in August 2023.

We are monitoring the situation closely and will announce any changes as the situation requires.
