13.4.2011 17:00 – 18:00
Lecture organised by Alvar Aalto Academy in the Ateneum Hall, Helsinki. Free entry.
Selected works by Hans Scharoun will be considered in relation to the theory of Hugo Häring and Zevi’s idea of an organic tradition, making comparisons with Aalto and Asplund. The pursuit of specificity, the articulation of social relationships, and the exploitation of irregularities will be considered.
Architect, professor Peter Blundell Jones
