This touring exhibition of photographs of Alvar Aalto’s buildings was assembled along with the book of photographs of the same name published in 1998, on the 100th anniversary of Aalto’s birth. The buildings were photographed by the Alvar Aalto Museum’s photographer Maija Holma.
Maija Holma’s photographs are accompanied in Tehran by photographs of Finnish town planning and building construction taken by Ehsan Ranjbar, Assistant Professor of Urban Design at Tarbiat Modares University, and Najmeh Motalaei, lecturer at the University of Applied Science in Tehran. The exhibition also includes Finnish industrial design, such as Alvar Aalto’s furniture, glass art and interior-design textiles.
