Alvar Aalto Symposium is an international forum for discussion on contemporary architecture. It is a triennial event, that brings professionals from around the world together to engage in current topics in architecture. The aim is to raise critical discussion about the artistic, social and technical challenges of contemporary architecture.

The 14th Alvar Aalto Symposium will be held in Jyväskylä, Finland. The venue is the traditional main building of the University of Jyväskylä (Alvar Aalto 1955). The event is organized by the Alvar Aalto Academy together with the City of Jyväskylä and numerous other partners. Symposium is chaired by architect, professor Markku Hedman. The language of the event is English.

Finland is easily accessible from all over the world. Many international airlines have regular flights to Helsinki, and Jyväskylä is easy to reach from there by plane, train or bus. The flight from Helsinki to Jyväskylä takes about 40 minutes, and the train or bus journey about 3 hours.
