Chair Alvar Aalto Museum collection / loaned by Oy Artek Ab Designer: Aino and/or Alvar Aalto Designed: 1935 Maker: Ekwall Oy, Pori Furniture was designed in the Artek drawing office in Helsinki under Aino and Alvar Aalto's leadership. At this distance of time it is difficult to say whose pencil contributed most to each model. Sometimes models were worked up by other designers, espaecially the interior designer Maija Heikinheimo who worked at Artek for a long period. What is certain, however, is that every model was approved by the Aaltos themselves. This chair was sold in England, among other places.
